YoYottaID launches at NAB

You may have seen our preview of YoYottaID at the IBC show last year. Our idea is that a single product can organise your media workflow in production and post.
There are other products that do this either electronically or physically, but none that operate simply and combine both into one like YoYottaID.
At IBC the media backup software was in preview and the metadata was stored in a local database which limited sharing. We had our unique YoYottaID stickers to physically identify media, but the stickers could only be scanned using our iPhone app.
We got a lot of interest and great feedback and went back to incorporate this into the design of YoYottaID. The release of YoYottaID has been tested extensively on location and in post houses worldwide.
Here are the main features.

  • Fast, secure backup of camera media
  • Easy full or selective importing of media from shuttle or client drives
  • Local and cloud based database of media metadata
  • Archive of media to LTFS tapes
  • Globally unique YoYottaID stickers made of durable plastic to identify assets
  • The YoYottaID stickers are available at low cost and include cloud hosting of metadata
  • Receive alerts when the YoYottaID is scanned by other users.
  • Scan, track and manage physical media using many different smartphones and tablets
  • Affordable YoYottaID software starts at $250
Come and see us on booth C11229 at NAB or get in touch for a demo version. More info on the YoYottaID page.

A Guide to the YoYotta Booth C11229 at NAB

We've got lots to show you at NAB this year.
There will be YoYottaID backup and archive of media from the following cameras.

  • ARRI Alexa using Codex Capture Drive Dock
  • RED EPIC using RED STATION REDMAG MINI Reader
  • Sony F5 and F55 using Sony AXS-CR1 AXSM Reader
  • Sony F65 using Sony SR-D1 SRMemory Reader
You can see how YoYo can maintain a raw workflow into post without the overhead of the original raw files. YoYo can now create new raw files without all the bits you don't need. YoYo keeps track of your conforms to automatically achieve this. We will also have the latest hardware tech from Sonnet and 1Beyond showing different ways of configuring a YoYottaID or YoDailies system on location or in a cutting room.
There will also be LTO5 and LTO6 drives, YoYottaID uses these to create LTFS tapes, this is a great standard for future proofed cross platform archives. There are more and more camera codecs so if you have any questions then please come and ask We are in the Central Hall C11229 close to BandPro and Sony, these maps will help you find us.

When YoYottaID completes a backup a PDF report is created, in the latest version this can be automatically emailed to you. The report contains the media checksums for future reference. There is no need to setup an email client or server as YoYottaID handles this for you.

BSC 2013

Another great show is the BSC expo. We exhibited there last year and found it to be a great way of meeting camera and production people.
It's small and focused perfect for a camera show!
This year we are on the Top-Teks stand and we will be showing workflow with Sony F5, F55 and F65 cameras.

YoYotta keeps it raw

Posted Feb 18th, 2013

Shoot 4K raw with Sony's F55 or F65 cameras. Use YoDailies to make your dailies. Then after offline drop the conform ALE or EDL into YoYo which then trims the shots creating new raw MXF files. No transcoding needed. This allows grading to use raw files without the size overhead. See how it works in this video.
